To all the riders and fans of the Northwest Nitro Nationals, can you believe it we just had our 6th Annual Northwest Nitro Nationals at Dry Creek Recreation? Wow how time flies! This year’s event was better than ever with some interesting twists in how things played out over the weekend. Riders and spectators showed up earlier than ever (which was cool), we ran under the lights on Friday and Saturday (1st time ever), I think another 1st in our 6 years of the Northwest Nitro Nationals we had a local Pro (Jake Anstett from Port Angeles, WA) win the 450 Pro Main and the infamous “King Of The Hill Cash Climb”, way to go Jake! We also had a new hill watering system provided by Mother Nature, I don’t think we’ll have her back next year… well maybe the week before the hillclimb for a day or two but not during the event she was just a little too ambitious!
Our hill designer and one of NAHA’s top Pro riders, Bret Peterson had an unfortunate mishap on the hill and broke his femur which no doubt took him out of contention which is too bad especially since this was to be his last year of competing and he was to retire at the end of the season. We’ll be looking forward to seeing him for our 2017 Peterson Cup Invitational. Speaking of the Peterson Cup, follow us on Facebook and Twitter for details as they unfold.
The team at Northwest Nitro Nationals would like to thank all the riders for continuing to take us up on the new challenges we create, the fans for supporting us and keeping this sport alive and last but not least our Partners, new and established, for believing in us and helping make our vision come true… without everyone mentioned we’d just be a dusty hill with some sagebrush .
See Ya Next Year !
